Wow you really captured what it feels like to be out of place. I lived in Vancouver for 4 years and remember feeling like... life was elsewere. And I was missing out on it. Moved back to France, it was hard but best decision ever! Best of luck on your move ☀️
Thank you so very much, Maria! I am sorry you had a similar experience in Vancouver, but glad that my writing resonated in such a way. I so hear you in the missing out feeling. I hear you that it is not in a selfish way, I feel that in a heart break way, so thank you for putting it in those words! Good for you for following your gut and your heart and returning where you feel you're in the right place 🧡🧡
I can relate. You Montreal was my Seattle. I never for a second regretted moving back to Southern California. Turns out my soul needed the sun. And I believe, for so many of the reasons you described, leaving is the bravest thing you can do. It absolutely counts as self care.
Speaking of self care, I love that you have set Monday evenings aside for it. Such a good idea!
You are the best, thank you for sharing this! It gives my soul butterflies knowing I am doing the best darn thing for me, and I am so glad you did that for you, too! ☀️
I now think I will talk of my time in Montreal in the way someone might brag like "oh yeah I lived in Montreal for two years once" when I am trying to impress someone at a party haha!
Ahhhh thank you for sharing that LD. It's not easy opening up wounds for the world to see, but I totally TOTALLY relate to what you are saying here - and I'm so sorry you have been through the wringer emotionally. There is pressure sometimes to enjoy a new place - but no one size fits all and there is nothing wrong with admitting 'nup - it aint for me'. And YES! Have been there, I know the feeling well. I'm excited to hear about your next adventure. Selfishly hoping its London so I get to meet you!!! :)
You are the sweetest, thanks Viv! It is so freeing in finally admitting (and accepting) it is okay to say no to this chapter now (: I so appreciate you saying that <3 I WISH IT WAS LONDON! One day (:
It is very hard to admit that something you really wanted doesn't work for you, and even harder to walk away from it. Sending you love and courage to support you in the next part of your adventure.
Thank you so much Tracy. It felt so hard for far too long and now I am so glad to be full of relief and excitement. I feel your love and am holding it in my heart <3
