And I actually...enjoy packing? Because I get to tell myself I know exactly what I needβI make several lists, then tell myself I should make fewer lists; which means, yet another item added on my listβand that I *will* be the person inside this suitcase, for however long that may be: I could wear this dress, or this pair of fun socks (if you have recs for brands, let me know! I need socks!), and BAM, transformation.
And you know my thoughts about cats. If you haven't seen Inside the Mind of a Cat on a Netflix, I can't recommend it enough. Apparently there are jobs as cat psychiatrists?!
Mine always come from places I am not *looking* for socks (I am both always and never looking for socks). Farmer's markets, at the back of a cute gift shop that is otherwise basically full of soap, at the counter while purchasing earrings, as a gift in a care package.
I think fun socks are the perfect gift - anyone reading this! Buy more friends more fun socks! Buy Sarah fun socks!
The magic of finding things when you aren't searching for themβand especially socks. (Why is it??) And more socks should have condiments as patterns. BRING ON THE CONDIMENTS!
Packing is maybe my least favourite thing in the world and I leave it so late that I basically can't even think about it too much and just have to get it done and hope I remembered enough tops (I really binned them off over the course of the last two years and just wear sports bras alone and then chuck a jumper over them when it's cold)
Your packing process sounds absolutely perfect for you, especially with the lack of tops needed. I might be taking some of this inspo into my next packing venture, I am not going to lie π§‘
Lauren, like Lou. I HATE packing, second only to wrapping presents. I was pleased though as I AM on a writing retreat and have almost everything you recommended - except the Bowie-esque outfit. Next timeβ¦.

Something tells me your clothing choices were as iconic as Bowie, even if not his style. Because you my friend, are an icon π§‘
