Well, funnily enough what colour *isn't* the dress? I think it is a summer fun throw-on that could only be described as inspired by "The Coat of Many Colours" that dear Dolly Parton sings.
It was so amazing! A dear friend and I had box seats at the Bowl. We listened, laughed, cried, danced...sometimes all at the same time! Dolly is a treasure!!
Your Nan’s life is so similar to my late mum’s--living (unintentionally) with less technology. When she couldn’t find whatever she was looking for in one of her seven dictionaries or a volume of the Encyclopedia Brittanica from 1918 that graced our bookshelves, my mum would ask me to look it up in my “magic box” (I.e smartphone). Such as, can you find my friend Shirley in England? I forget her last name. (Not kidding)
And as we all seem destined to do, I become my mother each time I step into the old low tech family home where I spend my summers. No TV. Old windup clocks. The 23 year old Volvo and its cassette deck. Notebooks and pens. Freedom.
I love sending postcards to friends when I’m traveling. I don’t tell them, just let it surprise them. I also take a social media sabbath every weekend. I only read my news, not watch it. I go off grid to a tiny cabin in the woods. Phone off, no WiFi. With my thoughts, Journal, a stack of plying cards, and a book. I just got back a week ago and already look forward to the next time.
Congratulations on your new nephew! And hooray for this week’s goals!! ♥️ Also, what color is the dress? Xx
Thank you!!!!

The dress sounds magical.
I saw Dolly at the Hollywood Bowl pre-pandemic, and that song...oh my heart. ♥️
AHHHH TELL ME MORE. That sounds like the most amazing night of your life, maybe?
