I do emjoy your journal snippets. The things you notice, and how you describe them paint such clear pictures πŸ™‚

Encountering strangers again and again until they become friends used to be a regular habit of mine. When I'd hang out in the same places, I'd see the same people, and at some point we'd often wind up in conversation and that was that. This included staff at the cafe bar I used to go to and write, three of whom remain close friends.

But there was one person I may never forget, that my wife, who'd lived on the street growing up vaguely remembered, and who I didn't know at all. And the reason I may never forget her, is that she used to wander out of the house, and occasionally all the way down to the high street, wearing nothing but a t-shirt.

And I mean *nothing*.

And it was not an extra long t-shirt either.

The first time we were both just kind of in shock. After that we just politely averted our eyes and waited til we were out if earshot before the "What the fuck though??? Whyyyyyy???" comments happened.

There was also the landscaper who's van was literally covered in artificial grass. Everywhere but the windows.

Another one, from living in the same place (we got stuck there for a while after Cuddles' mum died and we had to deal with probate and the house sale, it sucked), was what we quickly named Racist Van...it was covered in painted poppies and "Britain is Awesome" type slogans and just reeked of those "patriots" who want everyone to be cishet and white, and live on the 50s when it was fine to beat your wife and gay people. It's a very particular vibe, and this van had it in spades.

I don't tend to notice repeat people unless I see them a lot, or they do something to stand out (as above), but apparently I notice weird vehicles.

There's a van across the road from out house now, that's painted with zombie stuff, handprints in the windows, and like it's an emergency zombie killer van, which is pretty cool. Not a clue who owns it. But it was here the first time we ever drove up this road - to look at this house. We pulled up, I saw it, and my first reaction was "OK that's awesome, we have to move here" πŸ˜†

OKAY THAT ZOMBIE VAN SOUNDS AMAZING! I would read anything you wrote about the times you have seen that (including the first!).

T-shirt person, oh my goodness! What can you do though, right? Just exactly what you did haha.

Also the van covered in fake grass sounds hilarious! I want to see that. Actually I would read anything you wrote documenting all these vehicles and more!
