Fourteen months is amazing! I was inspired by so much of this email. I am also trying to offer myself mornings without my phone- it's amazing how it entices me in. Re sober summer recs; not an activity as such but I love coming up with really interesting mocktail recipes that bring me joy. Ginger and cardamom are often in there somewhere. Also ecstatic dance changed my life! 11am sober dance parties on Sundays, yes please!
Such serenity from your morning routine... I've been waking with the dawn chorus recently by chance and I love those seconds where it's just me, in a bed, listening to the birds, without anything else... and then I reach for my phone and ruin it all. You inspire me to change this! ❤️❤️
It is such a tough habit to break, so much so, that the only way I could do it was by turning my phone off the night before. Until I did that, "just quickly checking one thing" turned into that being my entire start to the day.
You've got this! And as always, thank you so much for reading 🧡🧡
Wow, LD, just wow. When I first got to know you through LWS I had no idea you were fairly new to sobriety. I love your vulnerability when you share about this, and I love and respect the path you are on. You amaze me! I loved your set when you rehearsed it at Open Mic last week and I'm sure you were badass in the live show this week. I only wish you were coming further east in your summer travels but... we will meet IRL eventually. 👏🏼❤️ XO
I'll admit, the title of this newsletter made me a little nervous when opening it! Your tech cleanse, even for a few hours a day/night is such a game changer in the never-ending quest for serenity.
Sober summer recs: a movie in a theatre with plush comfy seats. Kayaking if available, taking a plunge into the icy Atlantic. Swimming laps in a pool or cannonballing into the lake. Escape reading. A hike in the woods. And always, writing always makes me feel better, even if I think I don't want to. Kind of like a meeting...
As always, so grateful the universe brought you into my life. Thank you for always understanding and always sharing. I adore you 🧡🧡
I LOVE the comfy seat cinema, especially on a solo date. I also think I will take this escape reading to parks with me, as long as the crows allow it. Hehe.

Oh Susannah, you are a gem. Thank you for all of this!
I do love a sober dance party and have stopped that now living with people! Time for them to embrace it hehe and maybe even join in🕺🕺🕺

So much to love in this piece. Amen to morning rituals. Yes! Claim back that time. What a gift to yourself.
Thank you so much my lovely friend 🧡🧡
