We are in the midst of Aquarius Season โ and celebrating so many legendary birthdays. Including mine! I cannot believe how many Aquarians are in my life. I am so grateful to have manifested you all into my circle.
So this Sunday, lovely readers, I simply want to know: What is your favourite kind of cake? ๐
This might be viewed a bit boring haha and you wont be surprised by my choice Lauren....vanilla sponge with strawberry jam and buttercream icing.....DELISH ;) Irish mammy Ollie makes the nicest version of this cake and even though it's a simple cake, it's a win for me..all our birthday cakes were this as children and now she makes them for my nephews and nieces and no matter what fancy cakes we present as alternatives, we all end up diving into Ollie's cake.....Light fluffy sponge...delish strawberry jam.....and sweet icing...the perfect combination with.............a big mug of tea ;) And the only other aspect I need, is the people around the cake...what more do we need in this world? :)
Just to mention I will of course consume all sorts of cake as no cake is not delicious haha ;)
I have been somewhat wary around chocolate birthday cakes ever since an absolutely lovely very tasty very chocolate cake my nana made me sent me running to the toilet. It tasted wonderful, it just didn't want to stay in my stomach.
There is a lemon-berry cake in my freezer I made before Christmas that I am very much looking forward to trying someday soon.
Oh no VT! Your wariness is understood! I hope your lemon-berry cake is worth every bit of the wait, it sounds awesome. Even better that you made it yourself!
Happy Birthday to you, lovely Lauren!! My favourite cake changes all the time I am realising...and changes with the seasons. Currently loving a gluten free chocolate orange cake that a woman at my local farmer's market makes. Delish!
I love this answer, I too change my tastes with the weather and the environment. Also what country I am in because some places just do things better xx
Close second is the triple berry cake from Sweet Lady Jane on Melrose in WeHo. Itโs been a tradition (for fifteen years!) with two of my best friends to have that cake on each of our birthdays.

Happy birthday!!! I love tiramisu the most, and variations on chocolate ganache (with raspberry) are a close second.
All good choices!!! And thank you!
Happy Birthday, LD! Every flavor cake is my favorite.
PERFECT ANSWER.
As a fellow Aquarian the only cake I have on mr birthday is a brownie. Although I recently had a tiramisu cake which was a real game changer

What kind of question is this when the answer is always chocolate. Basically chocolate is the answer to almost any question or conundrum
Yes to chocolate. Though I do like cheesecake, though a friend of mine recently questioned whether cheesecake is actually cake...
I believe it is cake! Tell your friend to stop being a cake-party-pooper and just enjoy its deliciousness hehe.
The perfect cake does not exi---
Chocolate is never a bad idea. Ever.
Happy happy birthday!! โฅ๏ธ๐
The tattoos...covered or removed?
As for cake, carrot cake is my fave.

Removed, or rather faded. Then covered! Haha!
Ahhhh I love a good carrot cake and your tradition sounds just lovely (and delish!).
