Hello, friends!

Thanks to the encouragement of some readers and loved ones, and to mark the (truly incredible and wonderful) occasion approaching, which is my 100th volume (WOW WOW WOW), I am introducing paid subscriptions.

Asking for financial support for my work is difficult and new for me. It’s hard for many creators to do so, but I have to believe I am worthy of giving people the option to pay for the words and photos and thoughts I pour myself into each week.

Side note: I am thankful for the amazing and unexpected tarot read last week in Calgary that helped me acknowledge my worth.

What does this mean for you as a free subscriber?

I meant what I said when I said hi, lauren deborah! will always be free. Nothing will change for you if you do not choose to do so. I want hi, lauren deborah! to always be accessible to anyone who wishes to support me and for cost to never be a barrier between readers and my words.

However, should you choose to become a monthly paid subscriber of this reader-supported publication, you’d be putting a little tip in my pocket as thanks for the work I put into every post. My dream would be to become a full-time writer (and podcaster/artist/comedian — watch this space) and if you’re able to support that dream, I would be very grateful. Woah, did I just say that out to 300+ people? Guess I can’t take it back now!
